For the 2023 Dezeen Awards at Shoreditch Electric Station, 42 supersized sheets of Spectra, made from 100% recycled PET bottles and weighing in at 1,456kg, set the stage for an unforgettable celebration. Suspended overhead, the panels not only created a showstopping backdrop but also diverted the equivalent of 66,000 water bottles from landfill. True to our circular ethos, these vibrant sheets, alive with colourful fragments from Spectra’s past lives, continued their journey and were reimagined into new forms. As Dezeen welcomed architects and designers from 24 countries, Spectra embodied the spirit of innovation, sustainability, and celebration, proving that design can be both spectacular and responsible.
