Smile Materials was commissioned to create a bespoke deep blue-green material for the rear walls of Bonhill Street’s office washrooms, as part of the Superloo concept – an initiative to reimagine office washrooms as spaces that combine hygiene, durability, and visual delight, all within the confines of a single cubicle. The custom 100% recycled plastic boards bring depth, softness, and a sense of calm to the space, while offering the practicality required in a high-traffic environment. Its custom finish enhances both tactile and aesthetic experience, reflecting a thoughtful approach to materiality. By merging functionality with thoughtful design, this project demonstrates how innovative materials can elevate even the most utilitarian spaces.
