For London Design Festival 2025, Smile partnered with Camden state school students to co-design and build a public bench crafted entirely from local waste materials – including our Ocean surface. Guided by artist-designer Attua Aparicio and STORE, the students explored the potential of recycled plastics, glass, aluminium, and modular design, bringing their ideas to life in a bold piece of public furniture.

‘More than just a bench’, the project champions the next generation of designers, architects, and makers, equipping them with practical skills, creative confidence, and real-world experience, while demonstrating the power of circular materials in shaping our shared spaces.
